The Stand Up To Factory Farms Coalition submitted comments urging the California Air Resources Board to deny Threemile Canyon Farm mega-dairy’s application to participate in the Low Carbon Fuel Standards Program for its production of biomethane. While Threemile Canyon continues to pollute the air of the predominantly Latinx rural community in Morrow County, OR, as well as threatening its groundwater, it seeks access to this program’s financial incentives, which are intended to reduce transportation’s climate change impact. With or without biogas, Threemile is a contributor to climate change, not part of the solution, and should not be allowed to greenwash its operation at the expense of sources of truly clean energy.
